Pricing
£0 for the maktab. Always.
A maktab is never invoiced, never asked for a card, and never moved onto a paid tier later. Parents fund the platform instead: £5 a month for each child, and part of every fee comes back to the maktab.
Where one parent’s £5 goes
£2 goes straight to the maktab the child attends. The rest runs the platform: hosting, support, and the features still being built. The split happens automatically at checkout.
- No set-up fee, no contract, no paid tier for the maktab

Questions about money
Is it really free for the maktab?
Yes. A maktab is never invoiced and never asked for a card. Parents pay £5 per child per month, and £2 of that comes back to the maktab. There is no tier that costs the maktab money later.
What if a parent cannot afford it?
The child keeps full access. The maktab simply earns no share for that child. The platform can also adjust pricing for a single maktab where that is needed.
How do we get paid?
Through Stripe Connect. The maktab completes Stripe's identity check once, then its share is paid out monthly. The dashboard shows what has been earned, what is pending and what has already been sent.
Can parents stop paying?
Yes. A parent can change or pause their subscription themselves at any time, without asking the maktab.
